Zafer Plaza, the first shopping center in Bursa, Turkey's fifth largest city, opened its doors in October 1999.

It is located in the city center, where vehicle and pedestrian traffic is at its busiest. In order to preserve the architectural texture of the area, 6 floors were built under the street level, with 3 levels for the car park and 3 levels for shops. The glass pyramid, which is located in the middle of the building and brings daylight into the entire shopping center, has become an iconic symbol of the city.

Torunlar REIC holds 72.26% of the shares in Zafer Plaza, while 18.93% of the shares are held by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and 8.81% by various shareholders. Zafer Plaza Management Inc., established according to the principles of a pool protocol, manages its operations.

Zafer Plaza was named "Best Shopping Center" by the Trade Council of Shopping Centers and Retail Centers (AMPD) in 2000.

Through renovations in 2009, the total area of the shopping center was increased from 54,000 m² to 57,122 m² . The shopping center is located at the intersection of the metro, tram and other mass transport lines. Hosting brands that address all income groups, Zafer Plaza remains at the forefront of trends at all times with its prestigious and updated brand mix and with its two department stores.

A brand mix which addresses young people with renewed store decor, a focus on technology, an entertainment park for children and young people and the Cinetech multiplex 6-screen cinema all serve to enhance Zafer Plaza's competitive strength.

There has also been a rapid change taking place around the Zafer Plaza. Since the last quarter of 2010, life started by the completion of 2,750 homes as part of the urban transformation project, just 200 m from the shopping center. Building restoration work has enhanced the appeal of the Kükürtlü and Çekirge districts for young families, who are starting to move into the area. The tram line from Cumhuriyet Boulevard to Zafer Plaza has also helped improve the accessibility of the shopping center.
